Tier Hydrocarbon Exploration

Established in 1994 as the partnership of R. Keith Downing and Dr. David J. Fruit, Tier is an "extraction play" company. Our significant plays have been bypassed tight sands, coal bed methane and shale gas.

Notable Projects:

• Tonkawa Tight Sand Bypass, Dewey County Discovery EUR 60 BCF (D&J Oil, Eland)

• Shattuck Cleveland Field, Ellis County, Oklahoma: First Oklahoma Cleveland Horizontal EUR 100 BCFE(D&J Oil, Enervest & Jones, Noble)

• Generated and sold Devon Energy their first 15,000 acres in the Cana Woodford play.

• Introduced Continental Resources into the Arkoma Woodford play (Hughes County) where we have royalties under some 20,000 acres. (Continental Resources & Antero)

• First into the Atoka Shale play (GHK, Red Willow) where we are under substantial positions of Lipscomb and Ochiltree counties.

• Have substantial positions and involved in breaking the shallowest and highly economic Woodford shale play in Oklahoma still somewhat under the radar.

• Generated the Hartshorne Coal Prospect (in 1993, very early in play) in Pittsburgh and Haskell Counties (50 BCF EUR) (Continental Resources, Patrick, Devon)

• Recognized the potential of very shallow CBM against industry conventional wisdom and discovered the Craig County, Oklahoma Weir Coal gas. (8 BCF EUR)
